Developed to help pharmaceutical and nutritional product manufacturers calculate the future energy and water consumption of automated cleaning and disinfection equipment, the new calculator determines the daily and annual consumption based on the water temperature, volume, and duration of each cleaning step; the number of wash cycles per day; drying time and temperature, and other inputs. Once total consumption and associated costs are determined, the calculator may be used to optimize the cleaning process using less water and energy while also projecting cost savings and ROI for any of the company’s automatic wash systems.

Ideal for manufacturers pursuing corporate sustainability goals, the new calculator helps document the cost-cutting impact of conserving water and electricity during the cleaning and disinfection process. Capturing the heat energy from wash water for transfer and reuse, automatically reducing the water volume for smaller loads, and properly positioning items in the wash rack for complete access to the spray are among the available advances on the company’s pharmaceutical washing systems. These systems automatically clean the supplies and equipment used in the sanitary manufacturing process to a high level of hygiene that complies with FDA, GMP and GAMP 5 guidelines and meets the highest level of data integrity.
